This talk addresses ‘The Dangers of Indifference’ and examines how ignoring issues that do not directly impact us can lead to catastrophic consequences. It analyses the life of Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize winner, and uses his life as a lense to explore indifference. It also analyses how privilege can influence the act of indifference. Amy Sparrow is a teacher of history and English, Director of Activities and soon to be Housemistress at Haileybury College. She is undertaking a part time Masters in History at the University of Cambridge and is interested in international relations and current affairs. Her specialisms lie in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Amy has a global outlook and has resided in Canada, Tanzania and Thailand.
