Zee Entertainment – Head – Legal – Revenue Team (15-20 yrs)
The role holder will act as a partner to revenue teams providing strategic and legal guidance to achieve revenue goals and business objectives. The role holder will also ensure that the organization is adequately represented in all regulatory bodies and take all necessary steps to protect the rights of the company.
Individual Accountabilities :
– Lead development of legal strategy roadmap for the revenue function across products (linear and digital), platforms (cable, satellite, digital, devices) and revenue streams
– Lead structuring, negotiation, drafting and closing all agreements including Interconnect Agreements, Amendments, Addendums, etc
– Advise business teams on appropriate deal terms/rights structures, lead negotiation and structuring of contracts ensuring compliance with regulatory norms
– Enforce contracts to support realization of revenue and audits and subscriber reporting
– Ensure timely and effective action on all litigation matters to enhance revenue assurance and improve collection efficiency for the subscription business
– Drive cross-functional co-ordination between Sales, Strategy, Operations, CRM and Audit teams to achieve organizational objectives
– Liaison with litigation team to ensure effective litigation management of cases in various courts/ authorities including recovery of outstanding dues from long pending cases Ensure time-bound response to all legal notices and all legal communications including response to DPO letters, issuing public notices etc
– Regulatory Strategy and Stakeholder Management
– Drive strategy development for ensuring rights protection and effective representation of Zee in all Regulatory bodies
– Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in various regulatory bodies such as TRAI, MIB, IBF and other government bodies across markets
– Collaborate with peers in the industry to respond to consultation papers/ notifications issued by TRAI/ MIB/ Regulatory authorities in language which is favourable to the company
– Legal Operations and Support
– Act as partner to sales and audit teams by providing legal support to reduce under-reporting and unearth subscribers through timely and effective interventions in TDSAT, MIB, TRAI liaison with various business teams to develop effective anti-piracy measures
– Provide legal expertise and support in Subscriber Audit cases for favorable outcomes in TDSAT
Key Shared Accountabilities :
– Partner with digital business teams to identify current and upcoming issues including any regulatory guidelines that could impact the business, estimate risks strategically and provide pro-active solutions to eliminate or mitigate the risks
Essential: Bachelors degree or Master’s degree in law
Essential: Minimum 15 years of experience
